Google Accidentally Reveals Devices to Launch with Fuchsia OS in the Future
GLOBAL DIGITAL TIMES | Some of the people who developed Fuchsia OS released a document describing the project. But Google's planning document was quickly deleted.
Before the document was removed from the network, the contents of the document stated that the project collected information linking the operating system to JavaScript and mentioned the devices that would have the OS innovation at its release. That is, Google accidentally decided to remind everyone that the operating system will work in the future.
In recent years, Google has updated its Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max to run on the company's Fuchsia operating system instead of "Cast OS".
According to the documents found, Fuchsia will receive JavaScript support in its development. Its purpose is to facilitate the administration and control of device resources, because eventually the operating system will be used in devices as they are manufactured.
However, what is most eye-catching in the document is that Google needs to finalize the OS in the first half of 2023. That's because the company is manufacturing gadgets based on the Fuchsia that it has already launched.
The document says:
You'll need to have a generally working solution by 1H2023 (first half of the year) for it to be first available to OS in Fuchsia.
Since the OS is already part of the Google Nest Hub software foundation, we could initially imagine that such a device would be the company's next generation of smart speakers. Rumors suggest that the item could hit stores sometime between the second half of 2023 and the first half of 2024.
Google continues to move forward with developing the OS
After a long time without any news regarding the operating system, it seems that the search giant has decided to revive public interest.
It's important to remember that development on Fuchsia started in mid-2016, but little information has been released since then. In late 2022, the development team hosted an SDK Bootcamp to strengthen work on the OS. It comes as an extension for Visual Studio Code and has been downloaded about 500 times. It is possible to get an idea of how many people are working on the project.
However, the brand has not made it clearer to the public what to expect from the product. Will it replace Chrome OS or Android? The American company said no, but we'll never know going forward.
What is Fuchsia OS?
Fuchsia is a modern open source OS (Operating System) that is simple, secure, updateable and performs well. Fuchsia provides core operating system functions such as system resource management, driver frameworks, and software abstractions. Fuchsia is a general-purpose operating system designed to support multiple hardware and software ecosystems.
Fuchsia is an open source project that is still under active development by Google. There are two ways to participate in the development of Fuchsia projects: you can build products and software for Fuchsia using the SDK or contribute to the source tree to build on the Fuchsia platform.
Fuchsia has an SDK, these tools to use to help you start developing software that will run on Fuchsia. Before you start building software, it is recommended that you learn the basics of using the Fuchsia SDK.
